Official Symbian Twitter Application

Today, Twitter launched new versions of Twitter applications with easy and faster user interface for Android and iOS. But as a user of Symbian60 phone Nokia E52, I feel deprived from this kind of little happiness that I get while tweeting. So thought to speak out that "This is not Happening". This is my mail to twitter about my concern of not having any official Twitter Application for Symbian mobile Operating System. Let's see what will happen.

Dear Twitter and mobile support,
I am a huge fan of twitter and always stay connected with it.I use both the web and the mobile version, whenever I can access any of these. But,today I am left behind. There are official applications from twitter for Android or iOS,but in this quest, the users of Symbian60 OS are left aloof.Today, you guys released a new version of Twitter application available for android and iOS under your campaign #LetsFly,with great user interface and easy navigation. But,have you thought that there is not a single Official Application for Twitter on the Symbian60 OS,which was at one time, the best smartphone OS and still is being used by millions.
Though,In this market of competition,Symbian lost its shine, but it does not mean that those users of Symbian60 OS should be left behind in the long run by your company.I hope you can understand my concern for not being able to use your enriched service on my mobile phone. If I am feeling like this, then their are other Symbian users too who are thinking like me,but never dared to voice out their concern.I am speaking out and will be desperately waiting for an official Twitter application for Symbian users.
Thanking You
@JanakYadav

Update- In response to my email above, here's what Twitter had to say.

Though it didn't made me happy at that time. But soon within an year, just few years before the sad end of Symbian OS, Twitter native apps started coming preloaded on Symbian series 40 operating system powered feature phones made by Nokia under Asha series. And I feel happy using Twitter on feature phones these days on my Nokia 215. Thank you #Twitter for listening to users of a developing market like India.

Spicy Chicken Pizza-The B'day Treat

I am going to share this really funny and Pranky incident that happened with my friend Pradeep Chowdhury, who is one of my best classmate since and during my Higher Secondary Schooling. His Birthday went on 20th November and we all wished him on his Facebook Profile. And as usual, all friends demanded for Birthday party. But he was hesitant about it
But,suddenly one day I met with him while I was going back to home.He was with another friend Nishant Ojha and was going to Nishant's home which is just a matter of few minutes from my home. Finally, caught him and asked for the party or a small treat.Nishant also took my side and asked for the treat(That's called Friendship and tang khichna). But,still he was hesitating to give us a treat as Nishant's Birthday also went on 18th November and his birthday treat is still pending. So,First treat should be from Nishant's side.
But,we finally changed up his mind and we were offered a party at The DOMINO'S Pizza at Liluah Inox. Now,how could we stop on that.We rushed to Domino's, ordered a Spicy Chicken Pizza and rest the pictures will describe.

Pradeep-the B'day boy, tensed and waiting for my B'day to come.So that he can demand  my B'day Treat soon.
On that day,I understood, that "Party denewale se jyada party lene waley khush hote hain". And this difference can be seen on birthday boy's face and my and Nishant's face, who were enjoying pulling his legs and pranking with him for this treat and he was somewhere thinking in his mind that "Kamino,Tumhara bhi Birthday aaega,Tab to main treat le kar he rahunga.Khao,Khao, jitna Khana hai..."
Overall,it was a nice treat and we,three friends, enjoyed it fully, that is why I thought to share this incident with you all.
There is a saying among friends that "Jo dost kamina nahi hota,wo kamina dost nahi hota,Kyu ke har ek friend jaruri hota hai" Am I right????

Deepavali - The festival of Lights in India

As soon as the Durga puja ends, the planning for the festival of Deepavali starts. Deepavali is the festival of lights and Diyas (Oil lamps),but in most part of India, almost every part of India celebrates it with Fire Crackers and smalls Bombs.Though it is forbidden by the Government to use it socially as its s
Home deocrated with Lights
ound is so loud that it directly irritates and effects on Small babies and Old age peoples, who can not bear it and can cause heart attacks and much more if it is not used carefully, but still it is used widely.
Deepavali is celebrated in the month of October or November as per the date prescribed by the Hindu Panchang's(Calendar) reading.Though these months are the arrival of winter season, but the cold breeze and cold weather can not be felt because of the heat generated by the crackers and lights.
Rangoli
But the best part of deepavali that I like is not the crackers, but the cleaning up of the house and decorating it with lights and Rangoli ,as it is said to be the arrival of Goddess Laxmi, the Goddess of Wealth. These rituals are to welcome the Goddess to come home and keep us and the society wealthy. While in the decoration of home,Rangoli infront of the Gods Prayer place is really a tough job.Rangoli is widely used in south India for any auspicious occasion but at my home no body affords it apart from Deepawali because of the hard work and concentration that it needs.

It is made up of different colored materials like wheat flour,Maida,Flour of grams and Abir of different colors. But the toughest part is deciding the shape, size and design of the Rangoli and then making it look good with Diyas. It needs really good imagination power and creativity. But this the best part of Deepavali apart from Lights. Whats your take about Deepavali??

Chhath Puja

We all know that the Chhath Puja was only a part of Northern India, specially peoples from Bihar and Jharkhand used to worship Lord Sun(Surya) by giving Aragh(Pouring water facing towards the Sun). But,worship of Gods can not be accumulated to a certain region in a religious country like India. Today,it is worshiped in almost every part of the country.
In my family,we never did rituals of Chhath Puja, but back few years my maternal grand maa told us to do it as she begged something from Chhath Maa and she fulfilled her wishes. That something was me obviously. So,my mom  started doing this but not full fledgedly as she does not have the physical energy to fulfill all the rituals,as she is old and can't sit and stand for a long time. So,she opted to give a bunch of Bananas to our neighbour aunty who worships chhath puja and goes to Ghat(Shore, may be of river or fresh water pond).
The biggest part of Chhath Puja is cleanliness. It is said and adhered to that the worshiper has to eat only veggie foods along with his or her family and maintain cleanliness from seven days before the puja untill the Puja ends. This years Chhath Puja was as usually on the Ghat of a fresh water pond nearby my locality.Hope, you all know about the rituals of this puja, sotheres nothing to say about it.Heres some pictures of Chhath Puja this year at Liluah.

If I had two extra hours in a day,I would......

Now a days, every person's life is so busy and so hectic that we do not get time for other things.Even we do not get much time to complete our pending works on the same day or other day.In this way,the pending works get clotted and becomes a huge mountain to climb upon
I was thinking that in these busy hours of work or study,if I get two more extra hours in a day,
what will I do?
Whether I will spend them in completing my pending works of getting a new Ration Card,as we have from shifted from the rented house to our own home on the other side of the town,or will I go to meet some of my friends and relatives with whom I never find time to meet, though they are in the same town.
I have got other options also to spend my time, like meeting and having fun with my old classmates hovering around Kolkata or visiting my old area & meeting those peoples who were with us in that rented colony since the time I opened my eyes as a new born baby, almost 22 years ago.
They have become a part of our family, sharing happy and sad phases of life with my family and vice-versa.I do think that meeting those peoples whom you often don't meet now, will be a better option to show your true love and care to them.
But,finally,I got my reason to spend two extra hours which is not from any of these above mentioned options.
Frankly speaking,If I get two extra hours in a day,I would like to spend them with my parents,my Maa and Papa.Whether it is talking to them, listening to those old stories that they used to narrate at night to make me sleep.Or asking them about their life style back in 70's or 80's before my birth.Trying to guess the pains that a mother and father used to take for his child.
Although,It is also a fact that we are in the same house but due to lack of time our conversations are too short, much about the work and my studies.
They are getting older day by day and I am getting occupied day by day.I do not want to get aloof and isolated from them, mentally.Since,I am the only child of my parents,if I will not think about them then who will?
I will give my extra two hours to my parents,my God.
            What about You????

Creative and funny side of ERROR 404 messages we find on Internet

Normally, I used to surf internet looking for some articles to read. The process of searching on Google or other Search engines and going through the results and articles have become a normal process for internet users.
error 404 message funny
ERROR 404,expressing it through pictures

We know that each and every webpage found on internet does not have a guarantee to open when clicked upon. Some might have been postponed or some are under maintenance. That is why, websites show ERROR 404 or 502 while you try to open the URL.
These are the normal replies that you get when a website is not available on its server. But,I experienced something unique and captured a snapshot of it to post in on my Blog for you,my readers.
creative funny error 404 message

It is not a matter of single encounter or single day.I have captured these snaps from my browser on regular intervals and they are really a funny way to express that the site is under maintenance or have been moved from that URL.

ERROR 404-The Google way
But,I do think that the search engines or developers are changing their point of view to say 'No' or 'Error' to users. They are moving towards a funny way through pictures. Amazingly, though it is saying a 'No' to me but I liked the way it did. Isn't it??

Feeling of doing something new to my Blog

I was thinking to change my Blog Template from many days. I was not feeling like it was not very much appealing, but was not getting time to do so. Normally,I feel lazy lazy for doing any such things to my blog because I do not have any basic knowledge about languages like XHTML,HTML or CSS.

But,to personalize the inbuilt icons and boxes of your blog template, you have to go though some changes in the HTML File. This was main reason for me to be lazy for completing this job. As I thought this will consume my lots of time as I am totally unaware of this.

Finally, one day, I sat infront of my PC,searched Google and found some relative articles regarding this formatting of HTML for my personification. Finding help from these articles I edited and created my Blog Template and added required widgets and services.

The help from the articles which I found on internet made me feel like a techy. And I completed this work in a matter of time.Though I do not belong from that the science field. This feeling filled me up with excitement to always do something new by taking new challenges which are not for me.

Thankfully,I got my blog as I desired it to be,with a sober, attractive and meaningful appearance. In future,I might make some or more changes to my blog, but this first experience was and will remain unique for me.

The worst day of my Life when I lost The Ghazal King 'Jagjit Singh'

4
4
I will start this from the very beginning, it was 9th October 2011 at around 10pm IST. I finished my dinner, came online as of daily routine. Logged in to Facebook, checked out my stuffs, read some blogs. As nothing was making me feel good I thought to go to bed and take a sleep. I have made my mind that from today itself I will wake up in time, will sleep early and without wasting my time on FB at nights.
ghazal meastro king ustaad jagjit singh ji koi sandesh
The atmosphere was breeze-less tonight. As I was not feeling sleepy,I took out my mp3 player and started listening to romantic and soft-core songs. But all in vain, finally, I thought to get myself relieved by listening to Ghazals of Jagjit Singh Ji. I always have the folder named 'Jagjit Singh' whether it is my phone or MP3 player. I have been a fan of him since the time someone very special asked me to listen to his songs to help me calm myself and control my aggressiveness.
It was 2006 that I got myself addicted to his voice. My first expereince after listening to his ghazal was "Why haven't I tried it earlier? OMG, what a miss it was!!". His voice acted as a therapist to me, helped me in healing the wounds which I got from this world. His songs also acted as a teacher as it teaches me lots of things. For example, the feeling of what is love can be felt through his song "Mere Jaise Ban Jaoge Jab Ishq Tumhe ho Jaega".
I kept on listening to his ghazals. Feeling relieved and fresh, there was no mood to sleep. So I kept on listening madly as someone was pouring divine words into my ears. The more I was listening, the more I was feeling fresh. I didn't even notice that it was morning 6am, the 10th October 2011. The birds were chirping loudly as they wanted to say something to me but I did not understand that they were crying and informing me about something very unfortunate to happen today.
But now I have to sleep for the next 2 hours so nobody at home could understand that I was awake the whole night. Keeping the headphones in my ear, I slept listening to his songs. After a small nap woke up at 8:45am and switched on my computer from sleep mode. On the other hand,I got myself done with all those freshen-up stuffs, came back to my room, opened up facebook and the first thing which I saw on my timeline feed shocked me as nothing.
Jagjit Singh the ghazal king maestro from India

Some news channels have posted on Facebook about Jagjit Singh's unfortunate death due to Brain Haemorrhage. I was shocked and was not able to believe on this news as this might me a misunderstanding.I knew that he was hospitalised in Lilavati Hospital due to Brain Hemorrhage but his condition was stable and was recovering faster.
Then and there I checked out on internet about the loyalty of this news. As few days before someone running a page on facebook posted this kind of news and in return got lots of criticism regarding this, from others and me too. But unfortunately this time, the news was true, which I was not expecting to be. I then and there called my friends, who are also fans of Jagjit Singh and informed them about this unfortunate incident. They were also shell shocked. I could not believe on my luck that just few hours before I was listening to his Ghazals and Nazms and now he is no more.
I always wanted to attend his Live concert, at least once, but God also snatched this opportunity from me. Recently he came to Kolkata for a concert in the month of September 2011 but I was not aware of this. Later someone told me that tickets of that concert were all sold, there was no chance to get any at that point of time.
Whatever!! But there will be a regret throughout my life that I was not able to attend his Live concert in my life. And possibly, will not attend anyone else's concert ever in my life as nobody can be much greater and better person in comparison to what Jagjit Singh Jee was. He has experienced ups and downs in his life but always positioned himself strongly after this. His pain can be experienced from his Ghazals and voice. "Chithi na koi sandesh, Jane wo kaun sa desh Jahan tum chale gaye" is a perfect example of this, which seems to be dedicated to his one and only son Vivek Singh, who died in an accident in 1999. After this, his wife Chitra Singh left singing, but he stood strongly and kept singing for his fans. A perfect example to follow.
I also love the singles or ghazals sung by Chitra Singh, but adore those songs sung by the duo, specially "Milkar juda hue to na soya karenge hum, ek dusre ke yaad me roya karenge hum" & 'Dono ke Dil hain majbur pyar se, Hum kya karein meri jaan, tum kya karo'  and  "Hum to hain pardesh mein, desh mein nikla hoga chand". Now I am just assuming the situation of Chitra jee, feeling very sad for her.

It is almost 6 days from that 10th October, still it is impossible for me and my friends to believe that we have lost this great treasure of our life. We are still expecting him to comeback, but somewhere it is impossible. At the same moment his songs come into mind singing on his behalf "Shahad jine ka mila karta hai thora-thora, Jane walon ke liye Dil nahi thora karte, Hath chuthe bhi to Ristey nahi chora karte"
evergreen ghazal king Jagjit Singh

But after experiencing all these 6 days without him,my reply is "Shaam se aankh mein nami si hai...aaj fir aapki kami si hai"

bengali durga puja by zamindars
Durga Idol worshipped by Zamindar Family through years

It's Durga Puja...The well known biggest festive season in West Bengal.,now a days,Paschimbanga. This year too it was wonderful. It was delightful and different from past years Durga Puja.I went along my friends and checked out some unique puja mandap themes and idols in different style and shape. We hovered all around Kolkata and Howrah. It was not like old days, when I used to go with Papa and Maa,holding their fingers, though I missed those days this festival season. I can remember that I used to be a naughty child and always in a hurry to release my hands and run here and there among the crowd and let them find me. I guess, I was always in a playful mood. But not this time,as I went with my friends on bike and hovered the whole city gazing at pandals, idols and people wearing different types of clothes, from different places, with different nature, different style, but having a common spirit to enjoy Durga Puja.
The best part of Durga Puja is that people come from all over the world to experience this festive season.Durga Puja is mere begining,as after this West Bengal will experience Lakkhi Puja, Deepawali, Jagdhatri Puja and the final destination will be Chath Puja. I will definately blog about all these festivals and my experiences about them, stick to my blog for latest ones.

It was Ganpati Visarjan of 2011, a normal day in the month of September with neither hot nor colder night. What astonished me suddenly was glimpse of a man sleeping on the cemented seats on the Ganges ghat of Bandhaghat wrapping up himself with few pages of newspaper and a plastic sheet. Don't know whether he had his supper or not. But to keep himself aloof from cost of the treatment of diseases like cough, cold or malaria, he had covered up himself with a piece of paper as the breeze from river Ganges were not strong enough to keep the mosquitoes away from this home-less guy. He might be a Rickshaw Puller or a labourer, may be an unemployed poor or a beggar. By observing his condition I found that he didn't even had a piece of cloth on his body other than his underwear which made my assumption strong for him to be poor beggar.
I found myself in an awkward situation. Felt pity for that poor guy from an Indian citizen and a human's perspective, that my own race is lagging behind in basic facilities even in this 21st century.

Ganpati Visarjan - A Rare Chance which I gotta experience

Ganesh Visarjan is being performed by Howrah lads on Bandhaghat river shore
Back to back Ganesh Visarjan at Bandhaghat Ferry Ghat
It was a hectic day on 4th September 2011 as I after finishing the birthday party of TS, went to tutions. While returning back to home made a phone call to a friend just to ask whether Ganpati Visarjan is done or not. Fortunately they were late and I got a chance to experience that moment with friends. Asked them to slow down as it will take 15 minutes from my place to reach them. Went up there, parked my bike and bag in a safe place. Joined them on the streets leading to Ganges ghat, popularly known as Bandhaghat in Howrah. They danced throughout the way upto the ghat celebrating the festival of Ganesh Puja to its fullest. Later they stopped, prayed and submerged the idol of Lord Ganesha into the river Ganges.
Lord Ganesha puja idol immersion visarjan rituals performed at river ganga ghat howrah
Ganesh Visarjan successfully done at Salkia Bandghat Ferry dock

I was lucky to experience this not only because they were late on their way to Ganesh Visarjan but because I was fortunate enough to pray in-front of Lord Ganesha and also had an opportunity to drink coconut water from the coconut which was used to worship him. It really felt nice for the rare chance which I got to experience along with drinking that sweet coconut water. Ganpati Bappa....Morya
